Enclosed is an application for an export license received recently by NRC from Mitsubishi International Corporation for a reload of low-enriched uranium fuel for use in the Ikata Nac1 car Power Plant No.1 in Japar.,
A letter of assurar.ce is required that the material will be subject to all of the tenns and conditions of an agreetvant far cooperation. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurance letter will be appreciated.
Please note that part of the material involved in the proposed export is of Australian origin which will require appropriate approvals pursuant to the U.S. - Australian Agreement for Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy. We are in the process of obtaining additional infonnation about specific quantities of Australian feed material included in the product and will provide this infonnation when received.
