Dear Mr. Thorne:
Enclosed is an application for an export license received recently by NRC from Edlow International Company for a reload of low-enriched uranium fuel use in the Ikata Power Station Unit 1 in Japan. A letter of assurance is required that the material will be subject to all of the tems and conditions of an agreement for cooperation. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurance letter will be appreciated.
Please note that all of the material involved in the proposed export is of Australian origin which will require appmpriate approvals pursuant to the U.S. - Australian Agreement for Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy.
