l CITIZENS AWARENESS NETWORK'S AND NEW ENGLAND COALITION ON NUCLEAR POLLUTION'S MOTION FOR HOUSEKEEPING STAY Pursuant to the schedule established in LBP-96-15, the Licensing Board expects to issue a decision on Friday, September 27, 1996, regarding Yankee Atomic Electric Company's ("YAEC's")

pending motion for summary disposition. 151. , Appendix at 1 (July 31, 1996). It appears that if the Licensing Board grants YAEC's motion, the decision may trigger the immediate resumption of decommissioning activities at Yankee Rowe.

1 Intervenors, Citizens Awareness Network and New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution, anticipate that if the Licensing Board rules in YAEC's favor, they may appeal such a decision to the Commission. However, YAEC's resumption of decommissioning ouliviLies would jeopardize such an appeal, by rendering inter- ,

venors' opposition to those activities moot. Thus, in order to protect intervenors' right of appeal to the Commission, e.ad in order to allow intervenors sufficient time to seek injunctive relief from the Commission, intervenors respectfully request the Board to impose a three-day housekeeping stay on any decision that grants YAEC's motion, i.e., until the close of business on Monday, September 30.
