Dear Mr. Tschiltz:

I am contacting you to provide a status update on the petition for rulemaking you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), dated January 15, 2015. The petition requested that the NRC modify its regulations in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.69, Risk-Informed Categorization and Treatment of Structures, Systems, and Components for Nuclear Power Reactors, to expand its applicability to allow the licensees under 10 CFR Part 52, Licenses, Certifications, and Approvals for Nuclear Power Plants, licensees to implement the provisions of 10 CFR 50.69. The NRC continues to address the resolution of the issues raised by PRM-50-110. The status of PRM-50-110 can be found at the NRC Rules and Petition page at https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/rulemaking-ruleforum/active/PetitionIndex.html. At this Web site there is a link to a listing of all active NRC PRMs. You can monitor this site for status updates as they become available.

You can also continue to monitor the docket for PRM-50-110 at http://www.regulations.gov. The Federal rulemaking Web site allows you to receive alerts when changes or additions occur in a docket folder.
