Subject:

Schedule for Installation of Indeoendent Alternate Shutdowh System Item Number 2.C. (9) (d) of the Fermi 2 Low Power Ooerating License requires, in effect, installation of the independent alternate shutdown system ("3L panel") orioroto startup after the first known outage of three weeks or longer which occurs after September 30, 1985.

This letter is to inform you that Detroit Edison will have a olanned outage of at least this duration tentatively starting in the September /

October time frame, and in no case starting later than October 30, 1985.

will comolete installation and testing of the 3L panel orior l

to startuo from this outage.

Included in this commitment are comoletion of any procedural modifications and onerator L

. training required to assure the alternate shutdown system is functional from both a personnel, software, and hardware standooint.

Pronosed technical noecifications for this 3L canel will be submitted orior to Sectember 30, 1985.
