Dear Ms. Dedik:

Enclosed is an application for an export license (XSOU8749), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of depleted uranium to Germany for use as working stock for down blending of various enriched uranium corrpounds. The material will ultimately be used as fuel in light water reactors in EURATOM. Assurances from EURATOM are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation.

Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Please note that a portion of the source material may be of Australian or Canadian origin.
