USE OF LATER EDITIONS OF ASME SECTION III HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET No. 50-354 Public Service Electric and Gas Company requests permission to adopt the provisions of Section NB-3600 and related requirements in the 1977 Edition through Summer 1979 Addenda of ASME Section III for Class 1 piping, paragraph NC-3650 and related requirements in the 1980 Edition through Winter 1981 Addenda of ASME Section III for the CRD piping and paragraph NC and ND-3658 in the Summer 1979 addenda for Class 1 and 2 flanges, where as the code of record is the 1974 Edition, Winter 1974 addenda for the Class 1 piping and Class 2 and 3 flanges and the code date for the purchase and fabrication of the CRD piping is the 1980 Edition through Summer 1981 Addenda.
The use of the later code dates will assist Public Service Electric and Gas Company in completing the as-built piping reconciliation in a timely manner.
If the provisions of the later codes are adopted, all related requirements, such as material allowables, stress indices, etc., are also adopted to provide consistency of approach.
