Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Response to NRC Generic Letter 94-02, "Long Term Solutions and Upgrade of Interim Operating Recommendations For Thermal Hydraulic Instabilities in Boiling Water Reactors."
Gentlemen:
PECO Energy letter to NRC dated September 9,1994 provided our response to Generic Letter 94-02, "Long Term Solutions and Upgrade of Interim Operating Recommendations For Thermal Hydraulic Instabilities in Boiling Water Reactors,"
together with a proposed schedule for implementation of the Enhanced Option 1-A Stability Solution at Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Units 1 and 2.
The schedule was based on preliminary information received from the Boiling Water Reactor Owners' Group (BWROG) and contingent upon NRC approval of the BWROG methodology (i.e., NEDO-32339, " Reactor Stability Long Term Solution:
Enhanced Option 1-A").
Due to significant hardware delays (i.e., Period Based Detection System (PBDS) and Flow Control Trip Reference (FCTR) cards), it is necessary to revise the schedule for submitting the associated Technical Specifications Change Request (TSCR) to the NRC and for implementing the Enhanced Option I-A Stability Solution at LGS Units 1 and 2, as follows:

We anticipate an NRC review period of six months following the TSCR submittal.
