Dear Mr. Themelis:
RD Smith, URF0 EF Hawkins, URF0 I am responding to your request for agenda topics and schedule ideas for the next States / Tribes Coordination meeting. As a result of recent events, perhaps you should seriously consider Riverton, Wyoming as a candidate for the next meeting.
I also suggest the following topics for your consideration in dssembling the corresponding agenda:
1.
The status of the D0E/NRC UMTRA Memorandum of Understanding.
2.
The current effort to coordinate DOE's generic design approach with the development of NRC UMTRA standard review plans.
3.
Revised schedules for construction, as well as for DOE document submittals for NRC/ State / Indian Tribe reviews.
4.
The status of proposals to consolidate UMTRA sites with UMTRCA Title II sites undergoing decommissioning and decontamination to include:
o Overview.
o DOE /GC discussion of legal considerations.
Description of candidate sites (both Title I and II).
o o
Advantages / Disadvantages.
5.
DOE effort to involve the RAC earlier in the TAC design development.
6.
Specific application of the Project Surveillance and Maintenance Plan at Canonsburg.
7.
Presentation by States on the status of Cooperative Agreements and the status of their share of the UMTRAP funding.
The above are items which are of interest over and above your usually informative presentation of the status of the individual sites and overall project funding.
