BRANCH FROM: Herzel H. E. Plaine, General Counsel

SUBJECT:

CONGRESSMAN WALKER'S VIEWS ON TMI-l RESTART Congressman Robert S. Walker of the Sixteenth Congressional District, Pennsylvania (combining Lancaster, Lebanon, and Chester Counties) telephoned today to say that he was -

disturbed to learn of a reference made by a speaker for GPU in the public hearing of May 22, 1985 held by the Commission on TMI-1 restart, to a poll the Congressman had recently released. Because he was not present at the hearing he felt that the Commission should have the benefit of his views to clarify the record. The Chairman's office referred the call to me.

Because Congressman Walker was in Pennsylvania at a location away from facilities to prepare and write-in his views in timely fashion, he requested that we transmit his views to the Commission.
