Revised Schedule for Implementation _
of Revised Emergency Action Levels (EALs) Procedure Gentlemen:
This letter provides a revised schedule for the implementation of procedure EPP 01-2.1
' Emergency Classification".
Procedure EPP 01-2,1 will be revised no later than January 8, 1993.
Reference 1 provided Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating _ Corporation's (WCNOC) response to weakness 482/9213-01 which committed to revising procedure EPP 01-2.1 by Detober 30, 1992 and implementing the procedure within thirty days of NRC approval.
Reference 2 submitted procedure EPP 01-2.1 for review.
- However, since the revision did-not constitute a
reduction in-the offectiveness of the Radiological Emergency Response Plan, Reference 2 indicated the procedure would be released within thirty days of the date the letter. Subsequent to the submittal of the revised procedure, concents were verbally received from Dr. D.
B. Spitzberg of your office indicating the need for further changes.
Additionally, an event at the - Callaway Nuclear Plant has identified the need to further revise the procedure to address'a loss of-annunciators.
Based upon these factors, additional. time is.requir(, to revise-and implement the procedure.
This change in commitment was discussed with Dr.
D.~B. Spitzberg, NRC and Mr.
G. A. Pick, Senior Resident Inspector, NRC on November 25, 1992.
