Vermont Yankee Detailed Control Room Design Review Summary Report (DCRDR)

By letter dated October 11, 1984 (Reference f)), Vermont Yankee was required to submit a summary report for the Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR), in accordance with the Drder Confirming Licensee Commitments on Emergency Response Capability, dated June 12, 1984 (Reference d)]. The Vermont Yankee Detailed Control Room Design Review Summary Report is herein provided as Enclosure 1 to this letter. This report provides a list of the Human Engineering Discrepancies (HED's) identified, the modifications planned to address these discrepancies and the schedule for implementation of those modifi-cations. In addition, it describes any variations in the conduct of the DCRDR from the program plan provided in our transmittal of June 19, 1984 [ Reference e)].

The report of your staff's /pril 1-4, 1985 In-Progress Audit of Vermont Yankee's DCRDR (Reference g)] was not received in time to be incorporated in the enclosed summary report. the audit exit interview has been initiated by our contractors, General Physics, with completion scheduled for the end of the year. These efforts will be fac-tored into the schedules provided in the summary report. A supplemental submit-tal addressing these enhanced and revised schedules will be provided by September 1985.
