SNM-1168 License, Docket 70-1201
Dear Mr. Hickey:
Condition 12 of B&W Fuel Company's (BWFC) SNM License required us perform a characterization survey of the wet-weather stream at our Commercial Nuclear Fuel Plant (CNFP).
The results of this survey was drafted in a report and submitted to the NRC on October 29, 1992.
You concurred with our proposal that due to the levels of contamination the survey revealed, an action plan was not warranted.
You did, however, request that we take further action on the two grid locations that indicated elevated contamination levels in comparison with the other grid locations and that we submit a schedule for completion of these final steps.
l As you are aware due to the weather and the terrain of the wet l
weather stream, the best working conditions is the spring time.
l We shall perform the clean-up of the two grid locations and collect the soil samples for effectiveness of the clean-up by June of 1993.
The results shall be provided to the NRC by August l
1993.
l If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please i
feel free to call me at (804) 522-6202.
Sincerely, I
B&W FUEL COMPANY COMMERCIAL NUCLEAR FUEL PLANT 1
