OF MEETIfiG IJITH GSU CCf;CERNING EQUIPliENT QUALIFICATION F0k kIVER LEl;D UllIT 1 On June 10, 1985 the NRC staff net with represtatutius from GSU and Stone and Webster Engineering Corp. (SilEC) in Bethesda, Marylard. Thc nceting was held to discuss the seismic and dynanic espects of equipment qualification.
Two qualification packages f or (a) tLe stendby static battery charcer (IENB*CHGR 1A and IB) and (b) the intenter (1EhB*lNV 01A and 010) were rcviewed and fcund to be satisfactory.
GSU is to perfona an intertial nini-cedit of equipment qualification prior to exceecing 5% power. A progran plan was submitttd May 24, 1986. This plan is acceptable With tite exccption of the detailed check list which is to be submitted and accepted by the NRC staff prior to fuel load.
The Justifications for Interin Operaticn (JI0's) for unqualified safety r elated equipent herc discussed. There are still a rcrttr of concerns in this area both in the environnental area and in the seismic and dynciaic eiea. 1he staf f stated that f rom one to four weeks from receipt would be rec,Lired to review JIO updates deptr. dire on the number and type of justifications. GSU stated that the update of the JI0's would be provided June 14, 1985.
During the meeting GSU provided a letter listing 3 B0P JI0's end ore hS$5 JIO for which environtental qualification is ocw ccriplete. Subsequent to the oceting GSU was inforned that additional infornation cor.cerning the qualification of these components was necessary.
