SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-445/92-54; 50-446/92-54
This refers to the inspection conducted by Dr. J. B. Nicholas and
Mr. L. Wilborn of this office during the period December 14-23, 1992.
The
inspection included a review of activities authorized for Comanche Peak Steam
Electric Station, Units 1 and 2.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the
findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the
,
enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
These
areas included the liquid and gaseous radioactive effluent waste program for
Unit I and preoperational activities for the radioactive waste systems and
plant systems affecting water chemistry in Unit 2.
Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress.
The results of this inspection are documented in the enclosed report.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

to discuss them with you.
