Enclosed is an application for an export license
' by the Nuclear _ Regulatory Commission, for the expo (XSNM2732),:recently receive rt of natural-and-low-enriched uranium in'the form of uranium dioxide -(U 0 ) contained in-33 incinerator-ash / scrap.
The U 0 will be processed through a solvent 3
extraction system at Commissari,at a l'Energie Atomique and forwarded to Comurhex for final processing of uranyl nitrate to uranium hexafluoride (UF )
6 conversion.
Please note that UF and some of the scrap'will' be returned to General Electric in the United Skates. Assurances from EURATOM;ar.1 required that the material will be subject to all of the_ terms-and conditions of'an-agreement for cooperation. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Dear Ms. Wright:
The attached is General Electric Company's original NRC License Application for 18,600 kilograms of Uranium Dioxide (U308) contained in a total of.70,000 kilograms of incinerator l
ash / scrap material.
This material will be processed through a solvent extraction system.
Uranium Hexafluoride (UF6) will be I
returned to GE Wilmington.
It is anticipated that some material, other than UF6, will be returned to GE Wilmington, NC.
I This would be material not meeting the required specifications.
l Enclosed also is General Electric Company's check 1774048 in the I
amount of $3100.00 payable to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the procer. sing and issuance of this export license as required by law.
This export license is required by February 1993.
