CE-Hematite Facility bhterial Control S Accounting Audit

Dear Mr. Jackson:

The subject audit has been conducted at our Hematite facility by a member of my staff since the requirement of 10CFR70.58(c)(2) became effective. The 1985 bbterial Control and Accounting review and audit should be initiated prior to April 9, 1985.

Our hhnager of Nuclear hhterial who conducts this audit and review is currently involved in the physical inventory and reconciliation.of SNM at our Windsor facility. The Windsor inventory was taken on March 19, 1985 with a final reconciliation date of April 17, 1985.

In addition, the IAEA has scheduled a records audit from March 25-27, 1985 at Windsor. We are of the opinion that his duties at Windsor prevents him from conducting the Hematite audit until a later date.

We would request, therefore, that consideration be shown to the granting of an extension for the initiation of CE-Hematite's 1985 bhterial Control and Account-ing Audit from April 9, 1985 to on or before April 30, 1985. The granting of this extension will provide sufficient time for our Manager of Nuclear hhterials to complete both tasks.
