Dear Mr. Denton:
This is to inform you of our intent to make use of ASME Code Cases N-403 and N-413 at our Byron and Braidwood stations. A copy of each approved Code Case is attached.
Code Case N-403 was approved by the ASME on February 14, 1985.
This Code Case permits the reassembly of NF component and piping supports from NF supports supplied as complete assemblies or parts.
Code Case N-413 was also approved by the ASME on February 14, 1985.
It allows for specifying smaller fillet and partial penetration welds than those listed in Section III, Subsection tF, Table NF-3324.5(d)-1 and Appendix XVII, Table XVII-2452.1-1, provided that stress limits are not exceeded.
