S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC),
in responsible for the overall establishment and maintenance of local public document rooms (LPDRu).
The FOIA/LPDR Branch recommenda,
- devclopa, and i sn p l e me n t o
- programa, plana, objectives, and activition of local public document rooms, as well ao coordinates the distribution of documento to LPDRa.
The LPDR prograin provides scientific and t hnical inf ormation relating to nuclear power plants.
The ducament collections permit and encourage the f ree exchange of ideas and criticistna by the Deneral public in the licensing of nuclear power plant construction and operation.
The LPDRc are located in inutitutions libraries inuintained by state / local governments, (hereinafter, of higher education and nonprofit organizatione the " Cooperator") in the vicinity of proposed nuclear power plants.
The FOIA/LPDR Branch has established a cooperative agreement program to provide financial remuneration for services performed by the LPDRu and to insure that a uniform program of document maintenance and information services ic provided for LPDR patrons.
2.
Pl!LIj]D OF PEHFORMANCE a.
The period of performance hereunder shall commence on

The Cooperator and the NRC, by mutual agreement, may extend the period of performance through the execution of uupplemental agreements to thic coperative agreement, not to exceed n total of five (5) years.
At the end of each year the Cooperator will be required to submit a cost proposal to the NRC for the following year.
3.
HRC RESPONSIBILITY The NRC anticipates that they vil1 provide documentu on a weekly bacio to be added to each local public document room collection (collection).
NRC will provide all supplies a User's Guide. filing necessary for mainttsining collection, instructions, etc.
Also, the NRC, when notified by a library, vill promptly replace any d ocuinents found missing from the collection.
NRC will periodically visit each library t o'
-review the collection, provide guidance and instructions to the library
- staff, monitor contractor performance, and identify / resolve problems or discrepancies.

Prepare files, foldera and labelu when neceucary.

Maintain a file of explanatory und instructional material e.

f, Documenta in the collection are not allowed to leave the LPDR library unless instructed to do uo by the FOIA/LPDR liranch, NRC.
