Dear Mr. Brotton:

Notice is hereby provided that your Quality Assuranco_(QA)

Program Approval for Radioactive Material Packages, Approval No. 0490 expired on December 31, 1992.

If you are-an NRC licensee and conduct activities under the General Licenses of Subpart C of 10 CFR Part 71, or an Agreement State Licensee subject to the requirements of 10 CFR Part-71, as -

required by 10 CFR S 150.20, a QA Program approved by the Commission as satisfying the provisions of Subpart H of 10 CFR Part 71 is required. - Since you no longer have a valid QA; Program Approval, the General Licenses of Subpart C of 10 CFR Part 71 and registration under the provisions of 10 CFR S 71.12, to trans-port or deliver licensed material to a carrier for transport is terminated. This includes your registration as: a user of Certificate of Compliance Nos. 6717, 9126, 9127, and 9128.

However, we have registered you-for-the use of these packages under the provisions of 49 CFR 173.471.

Please note that records required by 10 CFR S 71.91 are to be retained for a period of three years.
