JUN 191986 Docket No.: STN 50-483 Mr. J. R. Rudy, Chief Interagency Archeological Service Branch National Park Service Rocky Mountain Regional Office P. O. Box 25287 Denver, Colorado 80225

Dear Mr. Rudy:

As you will recall your staff assisted us in May, 1981 with the cultural re-source research design for the cultural resources survey at Union Electric Company's Callaway Nuclear Plant site. The survey has been completed and in accordance with your telephone conversation with Louis Bykoski on June 5, 1985 we are enclosing the following documents for your review and comment:

1. " Final Draft Report - A Phase I Cultural Resources Survey and Assess-ment on Residual Lands at Union Electric Company's Callaway Nuclear Plant, Callaway County, Missouri," by Jack H. Ray, et. al., April 1984, and
2. "A Cultural Resources Management Plan for Residual Lands at the Union Electric Company Nuclear Power Plant, Callaway County, Missouri," by Michael J. McNerney, October 1983.

Also enclosed are the State Historic Preservation Office's comments on earlier drafts and the Union Electric Company response to comments.

Please review the report and management plan for adequacy, findings and conclu-sions. Also please review the comments of the State and responses to the comments. We are restricting the distribution of the survey and management plan documents to protect specific site location information and would appre-ciate return of the material upon completion of your review.

Sincerely, B. J. Youngblood, Chief Licensing Branch No. I Division of Licensing DISTRIBUTION:
