Attached is a Ictter this office received from Congressman Albert H. Quie. The letter voices a problem of differing standards issued by your office and the State of Minnesota pertaining to the disposal of radioactive wastes.
Since this is a matter involving intergovernmental relations, perhaps you would review your position in this matter to see if somehow this problem could be resolved.
This office would appreciate receiving a copy of any reply c
directed to Congressman Oule.
Thank you.

'Ihese Standards are 50 times mora stringent than AEC standards, but Chairman licliff eld of the Joint Comittee on Atomic Energy maintains the AEC has full say in this natter, y

The company is villing to operate the plant at state standards.
j It seems incongructu that the AEC, uhich has the responsibility for devising strict standards to control pollution, vould insist on far lover standards _ just to exercise its pouer and maintain a national l
uniformity.
