Ecol ogy 's comments on the scope of the Envirocare EIS.
As you are aware, PNL ts doing the DEIS under contract for us and is currently preparing a stra.z an for us to review.
I wanted to share our similar comments on this particular document with PNL but at the same time, I did not want to misquote you.

Dear Mr. Grimsley:
This is a formal request for information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act Request, 5 U.S.C.
S 552, and the Federal Regula-tions pertaining to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC"),
10 C.F.R.
Subpart A.
Pursuant to the above, our firm requests all agency records, documents and information within the NRC's possession or control regarding:
(1) Envirocare of Utah, Inc.,
Salt Lake City, Utah
("Envirocare"); and (2)- Envirocare's waste management facility located in Tooele County, Township 1 South, Range 11 West (the "Envirocare facility").
The request includes, but is not limited to, all records, documents and information which pertain or relate to the following:
1.
Any correspondence between the NRC and other state or federal agencies regarding Envirocare or the Envirocare facility; 2.
Permit applications submitted by Envirocare or the Envirocare facility and all documents related or pertaining to such applications; 3.

Design, construction or - operations of the Enviro -

or contractors, regarding whether the Envirocare.
facility-satisfies state and - federal requirements for its disposal activities.
It is our desire that the existence and identity.of any requested documentation be-confirmed in, writing and.made available to our firm for copying-as soon as possible.
Further, if~any documents are withheld, we request a list of. ' documents withheld and. a statement of the reasons for withholding each such document.
Our firm will pay whatever reasonable fees may be assessed.
