REQUEST FOR HEARING SCHEDULE Consistent with the presently projected September, 1986, fuel load date for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Unit 1, Applicants propose that the Atomic' Safety and Licensing Board establish a schedule for the operating license proceeding which will provide for the filing of written testimony on November 5, 1985, and the commencement of hearings on November 19, 1985.

On June 24, 1985, Applicants filed a motion for summary disposition of Contention 8 (Quality Assurance).

Applicants expect to fil~e additional motions for summary disposition of each of Joint Intervenors' remainin'g contentions between now and August 1, 1985.

This'filln~g schedule is premised in part on the understanding that the NRC Staff's Safety Evaluation Report will be issued by the end of this month.

Applicants have consulted with the Staff and Joint Intervenors about this proposed hearing schedule.

The Staff has indicated that it is in agreement and has authorized Applicants to so state.

Joint Intervenors' position is that they are unable to concur in the establishment of a schedule hhg6280033850625 ADOCK 05000424 0
