South Texas Nuclear Pro ject Docket Nos. 50-498 OL. 50-499 OL
Dear Members of the Board:
At the prehearing conference held April 30 - May 1,
- 1985, CCANP
. informed the Board that it had recently learned of a potential probl em with the seepage from the cooling reservoir at STNP.
CCANP noted its intent to file a motion for a new contention.
This letter is sent to inform the Board as to why CCANP has not filed the motion for new contention as of this date.
As noted by CCANP at that time, much of the information came from discussions with a radio reporter who broke the story.
Shortly after the prehearing conference, CCANP requested copies of the transcripts of those radio programs in order to confirm the details of the reports and to submit the transcripts as part of a motion for a new contention.
For some reason, these transcripts have still not arrived.
A second request is being processed and CCANP hopes to receive the trar. scripts in Texas prior to the commencement of the hearings.
If the transcripts are
- received, CCANP will do its best to file a motion for a
new contention prior to the hearings.
