Dear Mr. Denton:

By D. O. Foster's letter of August 3,1984 (File X7T02.6, Log: GN-400),

Georgia Power Company Management Plans (CRM)provided consultant's reports and Cultural Resource delineating historical and archaeological pmperties along certain transmission line rights-of-way associated with the Yogtle project. As noted in that letter, additional reports and CRM plans were being developed and would be submitted as they became available.

Enclosed are 10 copies of the Consultant's report and submittal letter to the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHP0) for the Vogtle-Effingham-Thalmann Transmission line. This report has been submitted in acconlance with the Tentative Resource Treatment Plan for this transmission line for the cultural pmperty GP-SN-13, GP-SN-15, and GP-SN-22.

This information is being provided with the understanding that it will i

not be subject to public disclosure. Withholding this information from public disclosure is necessary to protect these resources and insure their preservation. The basis for witholding from public disclosure were stated in D. O. Foster's letter of August 3,1984.

Additional reports and CRM plans are being developed for submittal to the SHP0 for the transmission Ifnes associated with the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. Such reports will be submitted to you under the same conditions noted herein as they become available.

Dear Dr. Lyon:

In accordance with the Tentative Resource Treatment Plan for cultural resources on the captioned project, resource testing-data recovery planning studies have been completed for the Designated Work Area (s) (DWAs) at cultural properties GP-SN-13, GP-SN-15, and GP-SN-22.

A copy of the report for these studies is enclosed.

By this letter, Georgia Power Company solicits your review and comments regarding these studies, most specifically the data recovery measures recommended for the DWA at property GP-SN-13.

We are proceeding with data' recovery as recommended in the enclosed report.

In accordance with the above-cited plan, we have released the DWAs at properties GP-SN-15 and GP-SN-22.

Those portions of these three properties lying outside the DWAs are still included under the Conservation Treatment Component of the above-cited plan.

Due to the scheduling of resource management and construc-tion activities on this project, we need to receive your written comments on or before July 1, 1985.
