Mr. Eric H. Johnson Docket No. 50-267

SUBJECT:

CHANGES TO THE FOSAVEX-35 SCENARIO

Dear Mr. Johnson:

This is to inform you of certain changes that have been made to the scenario package for the 1985 Fort St. Vrain Radiological Emergency Exercise (FOSAVEX-85).

As discussed with you and members of your staff during a telephone conversation on June 11, 1985, these changes are necessitated by joint participation by the licensee and State and local governments in FOSAVEX-85.

First of all, in order for ths State of Colorado and the local governments to participate fully in the exercise, it must be held during normal working hours. This is due to budgetary restrictions not allowing the amount of overtime that would be necessary during an off-hours exercise.

The initiation time of the exercise is now 0945 hours0.0109 days
0.263 hours
0.00156 weeks
3.595725e-4 months
on June 18, 1985.

The other scenario change involves using predetermined meteorological data for dose calculations.

This is being done at the request of the State of Colorado, as protective actions are scheduled to be simulated at specific areas.

This will also ensure that dose calculations performed at the plant will correspond closely to those

/

being given as input to the monitoring teams in the field.
