MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANI Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program In a letter dated February 16, 1978, from Mr D K Davis, Acting Chief, Operating Reactors Branch No. 2, Division of Operating Reacters, Northern States Power Company was requested to provide additional information concerning the reactor vessel material surveillance program at Monticello.
Information we had previously supplied to the NRC Staff in our letters dated July 22, 1977, August 3, 1977, and September 1, 1977 was judged to be inadequate to verify conformance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix G and Appendix H.
We have contacted General Electric and have requested their assistance in providing additional information to you.
They have informed us that they will assemble the information required to resolve this issue for Monticello. Considerable work is required, however, and no firm com-pletion date or estimated cost has been established at this tbne. A submittal date of August 1,1978 is believed to be possible, however.
We will notify you if we will be unable to meet the August 1,1978 sub-mittal date.
Please cont 3ct us if this schedule is not satisfactory or if you have further questions related to this issue. As noted in our earlier correspondence, we believe the surveillance program at Monticello will be found to be adequate, g d.
