Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Augmented Surveillance and Inspection of Piping Susceptible to Stress Corrosion Cracking In a letter dated September 15, 1977 from Mr D K Davis, Acting Chief, Operating Reactors Branch #2, Division of Operating Reactors, we were requested to review all Monticello piping for material which is sus-ceptible to stress corrosion cracking and submit a program of augmented surveillance and inspection if necessary. We were asked to complete this task within 90 days.
We are now in the process of assembling the information requested in Mr Davis's letter of September 15, 1977. We will be unable to complete this work within the allowed 90 days, however. We believe this work can be completed, including submission of a License Amendment Request with the required proposed Technical Specification changes, by January 31, 1977.
Please contact us if our schedule for complying with Mr Davis's request is not satisfactory.
