I+am a Hichigan resident opposed to dry cask storage of high-level nuclear wast'e at Palisades nuclear opver plant.
Without general public notificat. ion or imput we have been sited for a high-level vaste dump, 150 yds. from Lake Michigan, 1/5 the world's freek vater. This deadly waste cannot be stored safely anywhere, so ve vill most likely be a permanent regional dump. N01 The D.O.E. has stated they til not be liable for these vastes if an igerim site is ot built by 1998, a date the Government AcMunting Office tates is unlikely. Therefore I ask fore i

- 1. full democratic p'rocess in the crucial decision.
- 2. full public hearings held in the sited area.
- 4. a full cost / benefit analysis be done examing the cost of nuclear power and examine othgr sources of energy.
