Washington, D.C 40555 Attention:
Docketing ano Service Branch Dear Sir or Madamt I am the father cf tnree small children and we. live within the relative shadow of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, Michigan.
I am fearful that your commission is about to permit dry cask storage of spent nucicar ruel at that facility.
What are they made of?
Ccncrete and metal?
A friend of mine recently had a custom home built.
He spent hundreds of thousands of dollars--hired the top contractors in ovt arca--and spared no expense.
Much of the concrete work around his place proved faulty and had to be reme/ed and redone.
Mistakes happen.
Meterials sometimes fail.
The on-site storage of spent fuel may jeopardize the safety of.he people of this region and the entire Great Lakes water
,d.
Moreover, I've read that cas. a_srage has not even b tested with regards to Michigan climate.
Therefore, u and my family write to oppose the impending dry cask stt, rag.
at Palisades.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
,'1'fif M ($
