l 1 am a Michigan resident opposed to dry cask storage of high-level nuclear waste at Palisade 4; nuclear opwer plant.

Without general public notification or imput we have been sited for a high-level vaste cump, 150 yds. from Lake Michigan, 1/5 the world's fresh water. This deadly waste cannot be stored safely arywhere, so we will most likely be a permanent regional dump. N0f The D.O.E. has stated they

will not be liable for these vastes if an interim site is not built by 1998, a date the Covernment Accounting Office states is unlikely. Therefore I ask for

1. full democratic process in the cruct-1 decision.

2. full public hearings held in the sited area.

3. an enviromental impact statement filed with the EPA and the State of Michigan.

4. a full cost / benefit analysis be done examing the cost of
