NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE 05/01/85 At the beginning of the month the Duane Arnold Energy Center was continuing an extended refuel and maintenanco outage with the reactor fully defueled.
At 1750 hours0.0203 days <br />0.486 hours <br />0.00289 weeks <br />6.65875e-4 months <br /> the Reactor Water Cleanup System isolated on a high l
l differential flow Indication in its leakage detection Instrumentation.
j investigation revealed that the cause of the Indication was that one of the system's pump speed controllers had been inadvertently bumped from 35% of rated speed to 63%.
The resulting system perturbations led to normal system isolation.
(LER 85-013) 05/06/85 At 0910 hours0.0105 days <br />0.253 hours <br />0.0015 weeks <br />3.46255e-4 months <br /> the "A"
side logic caused associated Group lll primary containment isolation valves to close and the Standby Gas Treatment system j
to initiate.
The cause of the isolation signal was a. temporary jumper coming disconnected when the door of the control panel in which it was located was opened.
(LER 85-014) 05/07/85 At 1219 hours0.0141 days <br />0.339 hours <br />0.00202 weeks <br />4.638295e-4 months <br /> a light being used to inspect the reactor vessel was accidently allowed to enter a shutdown cooling suction line where system flow pulled it an extended distance into the line.
Affected operations were stopped to permit. recovery of the light.
05/09/85 At 1840 hours0.0213 days <br />0.511 hours <br />0.00304 weeks <br />7.0012e-4 months <br />'reflooding of the torus was Initiated with extensive l

05/14/85 At 0605 hours0.007 days <br />0.168 hours <br />0.001 weeks <br />2.302025e-4 months <br /> maintenance work on an RHR service water cross-tle valve resulted in the leskage of approximately 1,000 gallons of service water j
inside the Reactor Building. Although the system was properly isolated, Inadequate checks were done to ensure that the piping was dralned.
Equipment In the flooded area was dried out and Inspected and work continued without further problems.

Work was immediately stopped and an Investigation of the cause and consequences of the event was initiated. The Investigation revealed that no unmonitored release had occurred and that no measurable contamination was detectable in the water in the circulation pit.
