Dear Mr. Edmunds:

This is in response to your letter dated January 8,1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of applications and related documents submitted by the Texas Nuclear Instruments Company and the Ohmart Company for NRC licenses.

You agreed in a telephone conference call on January 23, 1985, with Alzonia Shepard of my staff and Bruce Mallett at NRC's Region III office in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, to narrow the scope of your F0IA request to two categories of Information. Specifically, you requested:

1.

Records containing information on licenses issued by the NRC to the Ohmart Company and devices covered in the licenses.

2.

An example of one registration sheet.

As 69 reed, we are providing to you the nonproprietary portions of the documents listed on enclosed Appendices A and B.

We are consulting with the Ohmart Company to review their proprietary claim on certain documents, and we will let you know as soon as possible if the documents, or any portions, may be disclosed to the public.

The charge for reproducing records not located in the NRC Public Document Room is seven cents ($0.07) per page, as specified in 10 CFR 9.14(b). Accordingly, the cost of reproducing the enclosed 518 pages is $36.26.

You will be billed for this amount by the NRC's Division of Accounting and Finance.

As you are aware, the NRC does not license the Texas Nuclear Instruments Company; therefore, we do not have any records pertaining to the However, you may wish to inquire with the Bureau of Radiation company.
