By "0CAN119101, Clarifies Ph Sampling Method & Chloride Grab Samples,As Suppl to Util .Util Currently Has Agreement W/B&W to Provide Offsite Analysis of Chloride & Ph [[Topic" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid.s. Analyses Meet Reg Guide 1.97 & NUREG-0737,Item II.B.3|letter dated November 15, 1991]], Entergy Operations, Inc. (the licensee),
described their methodology for pH measurement in the post-accident grab sampics for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1 and 2.
In a arevious letter dated September 7, 1984, the licensee informed the NRC that tie measurement of pil in the post-accident grab samples will be performed offsite, llowever, no specific details were provided at that time, in the November 15, 1991, submittal, the licensee stated that Babcock and Wilcox will perform analyses of the post-accident grab samples and measure their pit.
The pH will be measured with a pli probe to an accuracy of 10.3 pil units for values in the range of 5 to 9, and 10.5 units for all other pil values.
The range over which measurements will be made is from pil 1 to 13.
We have reviewed the licensee's submittal and find that the methodology for pil measurement as proposed by the licensee meets the requirements specified in Regulatory Guide 1.97, Table 3. and the guidelines clarifying the post-accident sampling criteria, d scribed in NUREG-0737, item II.B.3.
