, NOTIFICATION OF SIGNIFICANT ENFORCEMENT ACTION Licensee: Omaha Public Power District Ft. Calhoun Station Docket No. 50-285

Subject:

IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - $21,425 By EN 85-08 dated February 8,1985, the Comission was notified of the intent of IE to issue a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of $25,000 to Omaha Public Power District.

This action involved multiple violations concerning the failure to maintain site security as specified in the licensee's Physical Security Plan. In addition, two violations were identified which concerned physical aspects of the facility which did not meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 73.

The licensee responded to the Notice in a letter dated March 15, 1985. After consideration of the licensee's response, the staff concludes that one of the violations should be withdrawn because of ambiguity in the planning documents. Because the staff feels this area to be important, the matter will be addressed as a licensing issue. Accordingly, since the staff concluded that the remaining violations did not warrant mitigation, an Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalties in the amount of Twenty-one Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($21,425) has been issued today. Under the terms of the Order, the licensee may, within 30 days of the date of the Order, pay the civil penalties or request a hearing.
