As you have requested, the Comission has evaluated H.R.1083, the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Amendments Act of 1985. I am pleased to provide the Comittee with our written coments on the bill at this time.
We believe the bill represents a strong beginning to resolving current uncertainties regarding full implementation of the Policy Act, but that certain refinements are needed to satisfy the four major features you identified in your floor statement introducing the bill.
