This letter refers to the inspection conducted by _Mr. J. E. Carrasco of this office on

November 30 - December 4,1992, at the Chesterbrook ofDce and at the Limerick
Generating Station, Units 1 and 2. The inspector discussed the results of the inspection with
Mr. G. V. Cranston and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
This inspection focused on activities important to public heal'th and safety and was directed
towards engineering activities with emphasis on the adequacy of programs for engineering
,
and technical support of the plant operations including management support, interfaces with -

internal and external organitations, design modifications, and professional pronciency of the
'
engineering staff engaged in the design modifications.
Details on the areas examined during the inspection are described in the NRC Region I
inspection report, which is enclosed with this letter Within these areas, the inspection

consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
