This letter transmits the report of the resident safety inspection by Mr. L. Rossbach and
Mr. P, Sena , the Beaver Valley Power Station in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. - The
-
reporting period covers from November 19 to December 21,1992. The inspection consisted
of document reviews, interviews, and observation of activities important to public health and.
safety. .The findings were summarized and discussed with you and other members of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Overall, the plants continued to be operated safely and conservatively. Your staff identified
that an incore detector was not surveyed for contamination prior to installation as required by-
_
your procedures. This violation is not being cited because ofits minor safety significance
and the isolated nature of this event. -No reply to this letter is necessary. -'Your cooperation F
