Cones now CFUP. and files this Motion to Concel Applicants to Held the Design Audit of Conanche Peak by the Structural Engineering Branch of the NRC in Reasenable Proxinity to Conanche Peak in response to the refusal of the Aeoli-cants to hold that Audit at or in the vicinity of the site where CrUR and other interested menbers of the oublic can attend.

On horil 23, 1981, the NRC Staff requested that the Applicants select a site i

for the Design Audit of Conanche Peak by the Structural Ungineering Branch cf the l NP.C "which will not creclude nenbers of the public fron attending." Clearly, the nenbers of the public who would attend are those who live in the area sur-rounding CPSES.

D e Apolicants selected New York City as the site of the Design Audit.

Should the Audit be held in New York, nenbers of the public who reside in the area affected by CPSES will be orecluded fron attending. The cost of traveli~ng to and'

staying in New York for a week is crohibitive. Ihis factor is well known to the Aeolieants.

CFUR is highly interested in Part I - General Analysis of the Audit since it cevers several areas which are relevant to CFUR's upcening participation in the licensing hearing of CPSES. Sy holding the Audit in New York, CRTR will be ore-cluded fren obtaining the data cresented and the substance of the conversations which occur durine tha Audit.
