Dear Mr. Sholly:
This is in further response to your letter dated October 26, 1984, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), four categories of documents related to the Containment Loads Working Group (CLWG) and the Containment Performance Working Group (CPWG).
The documents identified on enclosed Appendix R are being placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) located at 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20555, in file folder F01A-84-831 in your name.
The documents identified on enclosed Appendix C are being withheld. This memo and draft NUREG contain the predecisional analyses, opinions and recomend-ations of the CLWG on severe accident data and is being withheld from public disclosure pursuant to Exenption 5 of the FOIA 5 U.S.C.(b)(5), and 10 CFR 9.5(a)
(5) of the Connission's regulations. The documents do not contain any reason-ably segregable factual portions, and are being withheld in their entirety.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 9.9 of the NRC's regulations, it has been determined that the information withheld is exempt from production or disclosure, and that its production or disclosure is contrary to the public interest. The persons responsible for this denial are the undersigned and Harold R. Denton, Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Reaulation.
This derial may be appealed to the NRC's Executive Direc+0r for Operations eithin 30 days o' the recript of this letter.
