t Dear Mr. Crimsleyt This request is made under the federal Freedom of Information Act.

I am looking for information relating to a quantity of Uranium-235 oupplied by the Nuclear Materials & Equipment Corporation (lWMEC) in Apollo, PA, to coors Porcelain company in Colden, Co, during 19G1-1964.

I want te determine whether 200 pounds of U-235 from

" Project Pluto" was returned to NUMEC for recycling, as plannod.

I am prepared to pay reasonable search and duplication fees if so required; however, I request waiver of foos because I am a journalist working on a story that may benefit the general public.

I understand como AEC records may be exempt from roloaso, but I would point out that Project Pluto technolow was declassifod by the AEC in 1973, according to page 126 of the Nov 26, 1973 remain / Space Daily.

If some portions of the roquested documents Defenso classified, please sand me the unclassified sections.

I do not have specific names and numbers of documents, but I will describe the typos of material I hope to findt

)

}GC reports relating to Nuclear Materials and Equipment Corporation's U-235 inventory and/or inventory losons (MUF) during the years 1960-1966; such reports could be filed under Dabcock & Wllcox, }mMEC's successor.

Reports received by the AEC from Nuclear Matorials and Equipment Corporation, 1960-66, relating specifically to U-235 shipped to or received from Coors Porcelain Company, Goldon, Colorado.

Coorn was working on Project Pluto for the AEC and USAF, under Subcontract 165 from the Lawrence Radiation Laboratorios. A final cporation report may have been issued in 1964.

Reports to tho AEC from NUMEC or Babcock & Wilcox, relating to uranium-beryllium scrap (reprocessing, storage or disposal) at the NUMEC facility in Apollo during tho yeara 1960-1966.

Please telephone me at (303) 893-9000, extension 232, if I can hola clarify which records are applicable to my request.

My fax nurJaer in (303) 893-5339.

Thank you.
