1993 NRC EROSION / CORROSION WORKSHOP We would like to invite you and members of your staff to participate in the 1993 NRC Erosion / Corrosion-Workshop.
The workshop is scheduled to be held in Region I on February 9, 1993.
The objective of the workshop is to address current erosion / corrosion (EC) issues by promoting-industry, NRC,'and research organization discussions in regard to EC in high energy, carbon steel piping systems.
The morning-of the workshop is divided into a number.of. talks by industry, NRC and EPRI members
-relative to the implementation of EC programs by industry licensees.
The afternoon of the workshop willLallow participants to attend one of three discussion groups-(breakout sessions).
The breakout sessions cover the following areas relative to-implementation of EC monitoring programs:
(a) EC monitoring program scopes,_
including methods for selecting systems and components for inspection, (b) practices for inspecting' carbon steel components,_
and_(c)?methodu of evaluating: inspection data and dispositioning results. -The discussion groups will presentitheir-findings to the collective workshop audience at the end of the breakout sessions.
Final concluding remarks will be made by industry and NRC members at the end of-the workshop program.-
We request that you inform us of the estimated number of your staff who wish to attend the workshop by_ January 6,-1993, and update-the number of participants-by January 20,-1993.
