Dear Ms. Ervin:
I am responding to your letter of December 17, 1992 to Chairman Selin, in which you requested the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff attend a special meeting of Oregon's Energy facility Siting Council to discuss steam-generator issues at the Trojan Nuclear Plant.
I plan to send ap)ropriate technical staff from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, t)e Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, and the Region V Office.
These representatives will give the Agency's position on these matters and address any licensing or technical issues that you may have.
As you further requested. Drs. J. Hopenfeld and J. Muscara of the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research will also attend.
It is somewhat unusual for us to provide this further attendance by staff at meetings outside the Washington D. C. area, but I am doing so in recognition of the continued good working relationship between NRC and the State of Oregon.
