Dear Sir:

This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 Operating License NPF-11, Appendix A, and Technical Specifications 3.3.7.9 and 6.6.C.

On November 24, 1992 at 1400 hours0.0162 days <br />0.389 hours <br />0.00231 weeks <br />5.327e-4 months <br />, fire detection zone 1-34 exceeded its 14 day timeclock. Fire detection zone 1-34 was taken out of service on 11/10/92 at 1400 hours0.0162 days <br />0.389 hours <br />0.00231 weeks <br />5.327e-4 months <br /> to prevent spurious alarms while using a heat gun to support Motor Operated Valve work in the Unit 1 Reuctor Building on 761' elevation.

On November 27, 1992 at 2315 hours0.0268 days <br />0.643 hours <br />0.00383 weeks <br />8.808575e-4 months <br />, fire notection zone 1-35 exceeded its 14 day timeclock. Fire detection zone 1-35 was tsken out of service-on 11/13/92 at 2315 hours0.0268 days <br />0.643 hours <br />0.00383 weeks <br />8.808575e-4 months <br /> to prevent spurious alarms while welding and cutting in the Unit 1 Reactor Building on 761' elevation.

In accordance with Action Statement "A" of Technical Specification 3.3.7.9, an Hourly Fire Watch was established to inspect fire detection zones 1-34 and 1-35 while the detectors were out of service. The fire watch remained in affect for Detection Zone 1-34 until it was returned to service on 11/25/92 and for Detection Zone 1-35 until it was returned'to service on 11/28/92.

A Special keport is required because the detectors exceeded the allowable 14 day timeclock.
