INTEGRATED PLAN SCHEDULES - SEISMIC DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS ISSUE 14.(SEP TOPlc III-6) AND CLASSIFICATION OF STRUCTURES SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS - ISSUE 90 (SEP l

TOPIC III-1)

Consumers Power Company letter of May 31, 1985 stated we would provide new schedules for completion of the subject issues by June 15, 1985. Both the issues.were previously due to be completed by May 31, 1985 but, due to circumstances outlined in our previous letter, they were not.

Completion of a report for the resolution of the Seismic Design Considerations Issue 14, as described in Consumers Power letter of February 12, 1985, will be in mid-September and will be then presented to the Plant Technical Review Group (TRG). The TRG will review and rank the resolutions. Following TRG action the report and the ranked resolutions will be forwarded to the NRC about mid-October 1985.

The resolution of Issue 90, Classification of Structures, Systems, and Components, will be in two parts. An analysis of a selected piping system according to Franklin Research Center methodology will be completed by mid-December 1985. An analysis of a pressure vessel, again using Franklin methodology, will be completed _by the end of April 1986. The analyses will attempt to confirm that an adequate margin of safety for both piping and vessel fatigue exists. Upon completion, the analyses will be forwarded to the NRC.
