Commissioners :
g I would like to" address the Atomic Energy Licensing and S:.rety t9
\\
Beard at it's public hrsring in Austin Wednesday, March 13th. I am eence-ned with the safety of the South Texas Nuclear P oject, which will be only a hundred miles from Aurtin. The many allegations of coor conc +ruction and the fact that it is only the second reactor that Brown and Root has ever built concerns me.
The prevailing wind direction here is out of the southeast, which could carry the radio-active gas and certicles from a meltdown right over us.
Purthe more,
no satisfac+ory solution to the radioactive waste problem has been fourxi.
It is irresponsible to license more reactors, w'en the garbage they D

IO I would also like to bring your attention to an asnect of the STNP ticlEC U.ic er yq m,1.,g that will not be considered in the licensir.g procedurS.UMsj}';ippe ma Oc of public opinion of the project. The people of Austin absNa's aNM D r
