SUBJECT:
MINUTES OF CRGR MEETING NUMBER 226 The Committee to Review Generic. Requirements (CRGR) met _on Friday, August 14, 1992 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
A list of attendees at the meeting is attached (Enclosure 1).
The following items were discussed at the meeting:
1.
The CRGR reviewed a proposed generic letter requesting BWR licensees to promptly assess the effects of noncondensible gases on the accuracy of reactor vessel water level instrumentation during depressurization events.
The proposed letter was submitted as a Category I item (i.e.,
for expedited review by CRGR), in accordance with section Ill.D of the CRGR Charter. The Committee recommended in favor of issuing the proposed generic letter, subject to a number of clarifying changes discussed at the meeting (to be coordinated with the CRGR staff).
This matter is discussed in Enclosure 2.
In accordance with the ED0's July 18, 1983 directive concerning " Feedback and Closure of CRGR Review", a written response is required froi the cognizant office to report agreement or disagreement with the CRGR recommendations in these minutes.
The response is to be forwarded to the CRGR Chairman and if there is disagreement with-the CRGR recommendations, to the _EDO for decision making.
