Dear Mr. Lowery:
This is in regard to your letter dated January 29, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Infernation Act (F0IA), copies of records pertaining to the Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS), Richland, Washington.
The NRC's staff members in the Office of General Counsel (OGC) are in the process of formalizing a generic response for various related F0IA requests.
The agency plans to make available to the counsel representing the litigants in pending lawsuits the vast majority of the agency records on WPPSS. As soon as OGC formalizes the plans, we will notify you when to contact the Department of Justice Attorney in Portland, Washington, in order to inspect the records.
In the meantime, you may wish to inspect records that are already available in the PDR. We are enclosing a copy of our letter to a previous requester, Mr. Cohen dated August 6,1984, and copies of previous FOIA requests, as listed on Appendix A, which is an attaShment of our response to Mr. Cohen.
You may obtain copies of these records from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Public Document Room (PDR), 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20555, by referring to the F0IA numbers and names.
There is no charge for irspecting records at the PDR. We are enclosing a copy of a notice that provides charges and procedures for obtaininc copies of records from the PDR.
If you have any questions, please telephere Mrs. Pappas on (301) 492-8992.
