Response to Gsneric_ Letter 87-02 Jupplement No. 1 On September 16, 1992, Portland General Electric Company (PGE) requested a 90-day extension to reassess its commitment with regard to Supplement 1 to i
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Generic Letter 87-02, " Verification of Seismic ulequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue (USI) A-46".
The request for an extension was made f order to allow review of this and other seismic desiga related commitments in view of the relatively short future operating life of Trojan.
In addition, this extension was intended to afford PGE an opportunity to discuss and potentially redefine the scope of this as well as other program commitments with the NRC Staff.
l' A meeting to discuss these commitments was scheduled for November 1992. As l-a result of the recent forced outage, which began on November 9, 1992, this meeting with the NRC Staff has been deferred. PGE Intends to reschedule-i this meeting for the first quarter of 1993.
